For Shriya, shooting for Roopa Iyer's Chandra has been a beautiful journey. The actress says some of her best memories have been while working on this love story. "Every day, I got to dress up like a princess and live an adventurous life. Chandra is a very talented girl who sings, dances, is well-versed in martial arts and learns a thing or two about life. It's her love story, and I must say, an interesting one at that," begins Shriya.
The actress had to learn several things for her role as a princess, and one of them is the ancient martial art form, Kalaripayattu. "It's artistic and graceful, but requires a lot of energy and stamina. Because of this film, I got the opportunity to learn a totally interesting defence form," she says.
Ask the actress how similar Chandra is to the Shriya the audience knows, and she smiles, "They both are characters that people can relate to; both have a heart to learn, are honest and sincere in their work. The story of the film is relatable, and anyone who watches it will fall in love with Chandra, just the way I did."
Chandra will be Shriya's first release in Kollywood in a couple of years. "I want the audience to appreciate the hardwork that the entire team has put in, and enjoy the film," she states.
Chandra, produced by India Classic Arts and released by Abirami Mega Mall.
